Drybarge boat hire welcome developments to new commerce to Manchester water ways.

Money is being splashed out on new stations for the water taxis set to run between Manchester city centre and Salford Quays. Rumours have been circulating for the last 5 years plus and now it is finally coming fruition.

The five pontoons for the taxi boats to be called ‘waxi’ will be based around the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Irwell.

The new service will improve access to the BBC’s home at MediaCity UK for commuters from around Salford. The Council have granted £1.23m to the scheme.
